Our Core Ingredients

COCONUT COIR FIBER

Coconut Coir Fiber is a renewable resource. It increases water and nutrient retention, improves drainage and aeration while inhibiting pests, weeds and disease. Available potassium ratio protects plants from disease and promotes growth.

Coconut fiber not only boasts some great ecological qualities but it also has outstanding water and air holding capacity. It can hold eight to nine times its own weight in water without becoming anaerobic-even when saturated it can still hold on to around 22%. Coco coir is therefore a forgiving medium, allowing roots access to enough oxygen even when watered a little too enthusiastically.

Coco coir also boasts antifungal and root promoting properties. Coco coir can suppress and protect plants from dreaded root diseases such as pythium and phytophthora.

WORM CASTINGS

Worm Castings stimulate plant growth and reduce soil erosion and compaction. It is a natural form of released plant food that reduces toxins from the soil to keep plants healthy. The roots will increase significantly resulting in a healthier plant that requires less water.

HUMUS

The best amendment for soil of any texture is organic matter, the decaying remains of plants and animals. As it decomposes, organic matter releases nutrients that are absorbed by soil-dwelling microorganisms and bacteria. The combination of these creatures' waste products and their remains, called humus, binds with soil particles. In clay, it forces the tightly packed particles apart; drainage is improved, and the soil is easier for plant roots to penetrate. In sand, it lodges in the large pore spaces and acts as a sponge, slowing drainage so the soil stays moist longer.

MYCORRHIZAE

Mycorrhizae are nature’s soil inoculants, tiny fungal filaments that work symbiotically with plant roots to help them absorb more moisture and nutrients. They also release enzymes, which help break down nutrients into forms more easily utilized. Other benefits include: Encourages vigorous root growth, Reduces transplant shock, minimizes need for supplementation by increasing uptake and increases drought tolerance

KELP

Our Norwegian Kelp contains many wonderful things such as over 70 minerals and trace elements, growth hormones, vitamins, enzymes, and proteins. Kelp promotes better seed germination and mineral uptake. Kelp develops more extensive root systems, accelerate growth, increase fruiting and flowering, provide resistance to disease, insects and frost. One key element in Kelp is called Cytokinins (CK). Cytokinins are a class of plant growth substances that promote cell division, or cytokinesis, in plant roots and shoots.

AZOMITE

AZOMITE® trace minerals have been reported to improve root systems, yields and general plant vigor in a variety of field crops and garden vegetables. Available for a variety of applications, AZOMITE® can be used to remineralize nutrient-depleted soils and is OMRI Listed for certified organic production.

POLYMERS

Polymers absorb, store and deliver water and nutrients on a consistent level. Our potassium polyacrylate polymers are more environmentally friendly, breaking down first into ammonia salts and then nitrogen and CO2 in about 4 to 6 months. Polymers are not included in our organic products.

BIOSOL

A 100% organic, long lasting fertilizer with soil improving benefits, Biosol has a balanced nutrition ratio and supplies the plant with micro and macronutrients throughout the entire growing period. The high percentage of organic material in Biosol improves the humus content of the soil in addition to providing quality nutrients for plants. Building organic matter and humus allows soil to become active, making nutrients readily available for absorption.

GYPSUM

Gypsum is a soluble source of the essential plant nutrients, calcium and sulfur, and can improve overall plant growth. Gypsum amendments can also improve the physical properties of some soils (especially heavy clay soils). Such amendments promote soil aggregation and thus can (1) help prevent dispersion of soil particles, (2) reduce surface crust formation, (3) promote seedling emergence, and (4) increase water infiltration rates and movement through the soil profile.

NUTRIENTS

A balanced, very light seed starting nutrient charge (NPK) Nitrogen-Phosphorous-Potassium. Carbon to Nitrogen 30:1
